If I could draw…

If I could draw I would draw a girl
crouched and alone in a dark room
surrounded by sharp spears that she can’t get past

They are her own inner fears and insecurities.

If I could draw I would draw a girl
silently watching the boy of her dreams
between them lies a vast field that she can’t cross

This is her self loathing.

If I could draw I would draw a girl
struggling to open a book that holds all the answers
a book closed with an unbreakable clasp

This is her struggle against herself.

If I could draw I would draw a girl
I would draw me
I would draw all the answers

the ones I will never find

I would draw the boy and the love

the one I will never know

I would draw the light of hope and release

the one I will never see

If I could draw
I would draw a girl
I would draw the me I wish I could be

I've always wanted to learn how to draw so all the pretty pictures in my head could come alive on the paper

Wow this is powerful! Saddening and yet good and gives a wonderful insight into not only your person but provides a way for people to examine themselves. I really like this the imagery is just so nice too.

I like this alot. good idea and good description. I wish i could draw hope too, wonder what it would look like? anyway very, kinda sad too.

very nice ideas. i'd play around with it a little more though, and get more creative. the structure is also a little messy. you may want to experiment with different stanzas/line breaks until you find what works best.
